[Objectives]To study the therapeutic effect and mechanism of Qianjin Lotion on eczema in mice.[Methods]A mouse eczema model was established by the 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene method. The indicators of mouse ear swelling degree, the number of dermal inflammatory cells, the number of body licking reactions, the IL-2 and TNF-αcontent in serum were detected to explore the therapeutic effect and mechanism of Qianjin Lotion on eczema in mice.[Results]Qianjin Lotion can effectively eliminate skin inflammation, reduce the degree of auricle swelling, reduce the number of dermal inflammation cells, reduce the number of body licking reactions, and reduce the IL-2 and TNF-αcontent in serum.[Conclusions]Qianjin Lotion can alleviate the symptoms of eczema in mice, reduce inflammatory factors.Combined with oral administration of Qianjin granules,it can treat eczema and achieve good effects.
The current quality control(QC) pattern for Chinese materia medica(CMM) lacks suitable methods and indicators to evaluate their safety and efficacy effectively, which impedes the smooth development of CMM. In this review, main problems of the current QC pattern for CMM, principally focused on the content determination of constituents, were summarized and the inspiration from the QC of biological products was introduced. With the aim at introducing a suitable tool to the QC of CMM, biopotency assay and its feasibility in the QC pattern for CMM were analyzed and confirmed by relevant researches with years of practice. From the applications of biopotency assays in the QC of CMM in the last 10 years, we propose that biopotency assays should be an integral part of the QC pattern for CMM, for these assays can make the QC indicators related to the clinical safety and efficacy, supplementing the existed QC system of CMM.
Objective To develop an effective method for simultaneous determination of eight major components in Liuwei Wuling Tablet(LWT). Methods Reversed phase HPLC method was used with variously improved conditions. Results Salidroside, forsythoside A, specnuezhenide, phillyrin, schisandrol A, schizandrol A, schizandrin A, and schizandrin B in LWT were successfully separated on a Kromasil 100-5-C_(18) reverse phase column(250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5 μm) using acetonitrile -0.1% phosphoric acid(gradient elution) as mobile phase. The detection wavelength was 275 nm with flow rate of 1.0 mL/min, and the column temperature was maintained at 35 ℃. The recovery rate of the method was within the range of 95.13%-104.56% and the precision(RSD) was less than 3% for all eight analytes. All the compounds showed good linearities(r^2〉0.9980) in a relatively wide concentration range. Conclusion Simultaneous quantification of the multiple components by HPLC would be a better strategy for the quality evaluation of LWT.
