Using the traditional model to evaluate the active force of the human lateral rectus muscle

The information on the force of extraocular muscles(EOMs)is beneficial for strabismus diagnosis and surgical planning,and a direct and simple method is important for surgeons to obtain these forces.Based on the traditional model,a numerical simulation method was proposed to achieve this aim,and then the active force of the lateral rectus(LR)muscle was successfully simulated when the eye rotated every angle from 0°to 30°in the horizontal plane from the nasal to the temporal side.In order to verify these simulations,the results were compared with the previous experimental data.The comparison shows that the simulation results diverged much more than the experimental data in the range of 0°–10°.The errors were corrected to make the simulation results closer to the experimental data.Finally,a general empirical equation was proposed to evaluate the active force of the LR muscle by fitting these data,which represent the relationship between the simulation forces and the contractive amounts of the LR muscle.

Numerical analysis for the effcacy of nasal surgery in obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome被引量:4

In the present study, we reconstructed upper airway and soft palate models of 3 obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS) patients with nasal obstruction. The airflow distribution and movement of the soft palate before and after surgery were described by a numerical simulation method. The curative effect of nasal surgery was evaluated for the three patients with OSAHS. The degree of nasal obstruction in the 3 patients was improved after surgery. For 2 patients with mild OSAHS, the upper airway resistance and soft palate displacement were reduced after surgery. These changes contributed to the mitigation of respiratory airflow limitation. For the patient with severe OSAHS, the upper airway resistance and soft palate displacement increased after surgery, which aggravated the airway obstruction. The effcacy of nasal surgery for patients with OSAHS is determined by the degree of improvement in nasal obstruction and whether the effects on the pharynx are beneficial. Numerical simulation results are consistent with the polysomnogram(PSG) test results, chief complaints, and clinical findings, and can indirectly reflect the degree of nasal patency and improvement of snoring symptoms, and further,provide a theoretical basis to solve relevant clinical problems.

Poroelastic behaviors of the osteon: A comparison of two theoretical osteon models被引量:4

In the paper, two theoretical poroelastic osteon models are presented to compare their poroelastic behaviors, one is the hollow osteon model (Haversian fluid is neglected) and the other is the osteon model with Haversian fluid con- sidered. They both have the same two types of imperme- able exterior boundary conditions, one is elastic restraint and the other is displacement constrained, which can be used for analyzing other experiments performed on similarly shaped poroelastic specimens. The obtained analytical pressure and velocity solutions demonstrate the effects of the loading fac- tors and the material parameters, which may have a signifi- cant stimulus to the mechanotransduction of bone remodel- ing signals. Model comparisons indicate: (1) The Haversian fluid can enhance the whole osteonal fluid pressure and ve- locity fields. (2) In the hollow model, the key loading fac- tor governing the poroelastic behavior of the osteon is strain rate, while in the model with Haversian fluid considered, the strain rate governs only the velocity. (3) The pressure ampli- tude is proportional to the loading frequency in the hollow model, while in the model with Haversian fluid considered, the loading frequency has little effect on the pressure ampli- tude.

Mathematical osteon model for examining poroelastic behaviors被引量:1

An extended and reasonable stress boundary condition at an osteon exte- rior wall is presented to solve the model proposed by Remond and Naili. The obtained pressure and fluid velocity solutions are used to investigate the osteonal poroelastic behaviors. The following results are obtained. (i) Both the fluid pressure and the velocity amplitudes are proportional to the strain amplitude and the loading frequency. (ii) In the physiological loading state, the key role governing the poroelastic behaviors of the osteon is the strain rate. (iii) At the osteon scale, the pressure is strongly affected by the permeability variations, whereas the fluid velocity is not.

健康成人60名鼻腔流体力学分析被引量:10

目的 研究60名中国健康成人鼻腔气流动力学特征,建立健康人鼻腔气流特征值数据库.方法 采用计算流体力学方法,分析鼻腔流场特征及鼻腔总鼻阻力、最大流速、最大壁剪切力、鼻腔黏膜面积、鼻腔容积、黏膜面积-容积比等气流动力学指标.使用SPSS 16.0软件进行统计学分析.结果 气流主要流经总鼻道且流线分布均匀,鼻阻力平均值为(0.211±0.085)kPa· s·L-1,最大流速(12.01±2.79)m/s,最大黏膜剪切力(2.50±0.89) Pa,鼻腔黏膜面积(161.2±34.7)mm2,鼻腔容积(31.7±8.1)ml,黏膜面积-容积比(0.58±0.09)mm-1.气流特征值间无明显性别差异.结论 鼻腔气流主要流经总鼻道,鼻阈区为主要阻力平面.气流特征无性别差异.健康人鼻腔气流动力学特征值与鼻腔流场分布特征数据库的建立为进行鼻腔数值模拟研究奠定基础.

机械拉伸对兔角膜成纤维细胞增殖和迁移的影响被引量:2

对兔角膜成纤维细胞施加5%应变、0.1Hz的周期性机械拉伸,采用流式细胞仪检测细胞增殖情况,划痕法研究细胞迁移情况。结果发现,与静态对照组相比,5%机械拉伸能够使S期细胞数量明显增多;施加1ng/mL表皮生长因子(Epidermal growth factor,EGF)或100ng/mL碱性成纤维细胞生长因子(Basic fibroblast growth factor,bFGF)后细胞相对划痕宽度明显变小。与各自静态对照组相比,拉伸10h,单轴拉伸组相对划痕宽度明显增加,等双轴拉伸则无显著性差异;拉伸20h,无论是等双轴还是单轴拉伸,相对划痕宽度均明显增加;拉伸同时施加bFGF或EGF后相对划痕宽度均减小,与静态对照组相当。提示机械拉伸能够促进角膜成纤维细胞增殖,但抑制了细胞迁移行为,该抑制效应与拉伸作用方式有关;而bFGF和EGF则可以减弱牵拉引起的细胞迁移抑制效应。

人耳鼓膜穿孔对中耳传声影响的数值模拟被引量:7

鼓膜穿孔是一种非常普遍的中耳疾病,其对人中耳传声的影响并没有得到很全面的研究。本文根据健康志愿者(右耳)完整的CT数据,建立了包括外耳道、鼓膜、听骨链、中耳韧带/肌肉、中耳腔以及内耳液体在内的有限元模型,真实完整地再现了其复杂结构及边界约束。利用模型进行了外耳、中耳和内耳的声固耦合分析,研究了鼓膜穿孔位置和穿孔大小对中耳传声的影响。研究结果表明了本文建立的三维有限元模型对研究鼓膜穿孔对中耳系统传声的影响是可行的。

周期性机械拉伸对兔角膜成纤维细胞MMP-2/TIMP-2及TGF-β1表达的影响被引量:1

研究了周期性机械拉伸对角膜成纤维细胞外基质中金属蛋白酶-2(Matrix metalloprotei-nase-2,MMP-2)、组织金属蛋白酶抑制剂-2(Tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinase-2,TIMP-2)及转化生长因子-β1(Transforming growth factorβ1,TGF-β1)表达的影响。对正常兔角膜成纤维细胞进行幅度分别为5%、10%及15%的周期性机械拉伸,并分别于拉伸后6h、24h取细胞培养液,采用ELISA方法检测MMP-2、TIMP-2及TGF-β1的含量。当拉伸幅度为5%时,6h、24h后,MMP-2、TIMP-2及TGF-β1的含量与静态对照组相比均无统计学差异;当拉伸幅度为10%时,6h后MMP-2、TIMP-2及TGF-β1的含量与静态对照组相比无统计学差异,24h后MMP-2的含量显著升高(p<0.05);当拉伸幅度为15%时,6h后MMP-2、TIMP-2及TGF-β1的含量与静态对照组相比仍无统计学差异,拉伸24h后MMP-2、TGF-β1含量显著升高,TIMP-2含量显著降低(p<0.05)。结果表明,在体外以一定的幅度周期性拉伸角膜成纤维细胞一定时间后,细胞分泌的MMP-2、TIMP-2及TGF-β1发生显著改变,三者相互作用,共同调节角膜成纤维细胞的生物学行为。
