The comparisons were made in three species of Cynoglossus, Cynoglossus semilaevis, Cynoglossus robustus and Cynoglossus abbreviatus. Cynoglossus semilaevis is not only the longest and the widest in three fishes, but also the thickest when it matures. Cynoglossus semilaevis has the highest head, while Cynoglossus robustus has the longest lip. Cynoglossus semilaevis is not only the largest in size , but also grows fastest. Before one years old, Cynoglossus abbreviatus is larger in size and grows faster than Cynoglossus robustus, but at four years old , Cynoglossus robustus is larger in size and grows faster than Cynoglossus abbreviatus. The inflection points of growth curves of Cynoglossus semilaevis, Cynoglossus robustus and Cynoglossus abbreviatus are 3.24, 2.38 and 2.35 respectively.
